“Hello friends!
The countdown has begun! In a few days from now, our
great state of Maharashtra will see a new era in politics-an era of good
governance, nationalism and development...and I am indeed lucky to be a part of
this big change.
For next one month, I will share my thoughts, ideas
and updates with you. Do not hesitate to give me your feedback, suggestions or expectations.
I promise to make this dialogue a fruitful one! Let’s take our party to a
thumping victory- yet again!!
As by-poll results were declared yesterday, there
was a strange euphoria of sorts amongst the pseudo seculars and UPA members.
Everyone was ecstatic about how BJP got a ‘major jolt’ and how Modi ji’ s magic has lost its sheen! But do by-
polls results really indicate that?
As we all know, in by-polls; local issues, local
candidates and local equations matter the most. For example, between 2006-2011,
DMK won 11 out of 13 by-polls but won only 31 out of 234 seats in 2011 TN
assembly elections, 126 less than previous. Similarly, between 2007-2012, BSP won
15 out of 18 by-polls but won only 80 seats out 401, 126 seats less than the
previous. And, TDP lost all 41 by-polls between 2009 -2014 but won 102 out of
176 seats in AP assembly elections. So, most of the time, by-polls are no
indicators of the public mood. But
people quick to dismiss Modi ji’ s and
BJP’s strength will find no particular need to analyze or see the general
pattern of by-polls results!
Yesterday, NCP started its election campaigns in
Kolhapur and the way NCP leaders were gloating over the BJP’s so-called `failure’
was really funny! They seemed so happy about BJP losing a few seats as if they
have already won Assembly elections! As usual, Sharad Pawar used his ‘secular’ trump-card
and his idea of nationalism but I think people can very well identify truly nationalist
party, no matter how hard he tries to project BJP as a communal party!
His nephew Ajit Pawar promised people in the same
rally speech that if you vote us to power, I will make Kolhapur toll-free! Few
days ago, he told the teachers during a meet that now that he knows about their
problems, he will surely help them! I wonder what was he doing for the last 15
years that his party was in power! He never thought of making Kolhapur
toll-free then?! All the promises are suddenly tumbling out now, when they seem
to be losing the ground!
The people who did nothing for decades are
evaluating our performance of 100 days in the center! I would like to tell them
that to clear up their mess and to bring everything to order might take some
time. But what Modi ji has achieved in
last 100 days is for everyone to see… unless of course you choose to close
your eyes … and minds!!”
