It was quite natural that the sexual assault on two 4-year-olds at their school would stir anger among the people of Badlapur. Now why the number of such heinous instances and perverted mindsets is increasing could be a separate subject for special article through thorough research. For the time being, I wish to express my concern on this particular occurrence that sparked agitations and protests in Badlapur. The agitators disrupted railway service for nearly nine hours. It was only owing to the police handling the situation with great composure that prevented any untoward incidents.
Currently,
the media is flooded with information about the identities and the agendas of
these protestors. Over the last decade, there have been several occasions where
certain forces have attempted to instigate violent situations under the guise
of such regrettable tragedies. Maharashtra Bandh was called by Uddhav Thackeray
and the Congress in protest of the Badlapur tragedy. However, Uddhav Thackeray
and Congress leaders were forced to call off the bandh against their wishes
when the Bombay High Court censured it.
In
the backdrop of the Assembly elections, conspiracies to create unrest in
Maharashtra are being hatched for meagre political ambitions. On closely
observing the events over the last few months, numerous instances of UBT,
Congress and Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party’s concerted attempts to
destabilize the state will be revealed. During the Lok Sabha elections, fear
was deliberately ingrained in the Muslim community’s minds through the
dissemination of false information about the enactment of the CAA and
Constitution getting changed. Maha Vikas Aghadi gained politically as they
secured 32 extra seats. Once again, realizing that it would not be feasible to
deploy these false narratives during the upcoming Assembly elections, attempts
are being made to incite various social elements in devious manner to create
anarchy in the state.
In
protest against the ill-treatment to Hindus in Bangladesh, agitations and
morchas were staged in various places across the state. There was stone pelting
on these morchas in Nashik and Jalgaon. Nothing serious took place in any of
these cities solely because the police and the various Hindu organizations
exercised restraint. The intention behind the stone pelting during these
morchas organized by Hindu groups was simple – to provoke violent reactions
among Hindus in response to stone pelting. Also, following the remarks made by
Ramgiri Maharaj about Islam, police complaints were filed against him. Once
again, the goal was quite clear – to destroy religious unity in the state.
Mahayuti
government had recently called an all-party meeting to find a solution to the
issue of Maratha reservation. UBT, Congress and Sharad Pawar did not show up
for this meeting. Maharashtra saw how, for the previous year and a half,
leaders of the Sharad Pawar group, Congress and UBT had been trying to sow
dissatisfaction against the Mahayuti government on this issue. Manoj Jarange,
who has been constantly targeting the Mahayuti government and deputy chief
minister Devendra Fadnavis on this issue, not once uttered a word against UBT
and Sharad Pawar. Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party have always advocated
that the Maratha community must have its own reservation rather than a share of
the reservation allotted to the Other Backward Communities. Despite repeatedly
asking if Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray were fine with Marathas getting
reservation granted from the OBC’s quota, they refused to respond. And hence,
it will not be an exaggeration to believe, based on circumstantial evidence,
that it was Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray who had asked protestors to make
the demand that instead of giving separate reservation to the Marathas, it must
be granted from OBC’s quota. Again, with the explicit intention of turning the
Marathas and OBCs against one another and disrupting harmony in the state. UBT,
Sharad Pawar and Congress leaders fail to realize that they are trying to
permanently destroy social harmony in the state by putting Marathas against
OBCs in order to fulfil their political ambitions.
Recently,
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had made a conscious effort to mislead the youth
about the central government and its Agniveer Scheme by spreading false
information claiming that the families of two Agniveer martyrs were not
compensated by the union government. UBT, Congress and Sharad Pawar group seem
to be working toward their singular goal to keep the country ablaze, to disrupt
social harmony and to create anarchy. The purpose of the Opposition is to
challenge the government. Dissent from the Opposition that adheres to
democratic ideals is always welcome. But it is regrettable that the Opposition
does not realize the potential harm that their tactics to jeopardise social
harmony, religious peace and national unity might cause in exchange for their
small-minded political objectives. I am confident that the common Indian
citizen is quite intelligent and will not fall for such illusory efforts.
