A
drowning person fights with all his strength in an attempt to survive. Uddhav
Thackeray’s Dasara Melava speech resembled the final struggle of a drowning
man— a desperate attempt to save his life and preserve his very existence. This
pitiful display evoked memories of those electrifying rallies once filled with
the passionate energy of lakhs of Shiv Sainiks, inspired by the fiery thoughts
of respected Balasaheb Thackeray.
Balasaheb
never had any greed for power. That is why he never ever compromised on his
Hindutva ideology. Balasaheb remained loyal to nationalism and Hindutva until
his last breath. He never entered into any political alliance with Congress,
communists or socialists, whose ideologies were contrary to this. Uddhav
Thackeray, however, abandoned Balasaheb’s ideology by joining hands with forces
which are trying to destroy the ideology of Hindutva and nationalism. The
Congress leadership and senior leader Sharad Pawar made Uddhav Thackeray the
Chief Minister of a developed state like Maharashtra only on the condition that
he abandons Balasaheb’s Hindutva ideology.
The
alliance between respected Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata
Party was in existence since 1989. This alliance had been formed against the
backdrop of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Besides this, the alliance also had
the backdrop of the ongoing violence caused by the Khalistani terrorists in the
country at that time. Khalistan supporters were being strengthened as part of
Pakistan’s conspiracy to destabilize and disrupt India. Violence was being
carried out across the country by Khalistani terrorists.
To
curb this violence, in 1984, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi decided to
carry out a military operation at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the sacred
place of the Sikh community. The Indian Army freed the Golden Temple from the
clutches of Khalistani terrorists. As an act of revenge, the terrorists
assassinated Indira Gandhi and the then Army Chief, General Arun Kumar Vaidya.
The Khalistani terrorists were trying to incite violence across the country.
The Bharatiya Janata Party had extended its support to Indira Gandhi at that
time, in view of the national interest. BJP stood firmly against attempts to
divide Hindus and Sikhs. The reason for telling this history is that Uddhav
Thackeray supported Naxalite forces during the Dasara Melava to oppose the
Bharatiya Janata Party.
The
country is facing the grave danger of urban Naxals. Unable to tolerate India’s
growing power on the international stage, several forces have begun
strengthening the activities of urban Naxals in India. As a result, Naxals have
started continuous attempts to spread anarchy and unrest in cities through
various means. A devious plot was devised to create discord among various
castes and religions by spreading false narratives.
The
role of voluntary organizations in this is another important aspect. The
greatest misfortune for this country is that no one questions these voluntary
organizations and everyone assumes they are doing constructive work. This is a
misconception. There are several voluntary organizations which not only fail to
provide social service, but also involve in religious conversions and
recruitment of Naxals. The violence at Bhima Koregaon a few years back was a
conspiracy to provoke conflict between different castes. The state government
has formulated a Public Security Bill to curb such forces. Uddhav Thackeray
launched a scathing attack on this bill at the Dasara Melava. The supporters of
these same urban Naxals participated in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Foreign
organizations are praising our country and its economic growth. However,
voluntary organizations funded by foreign aid keep on talking repeatedly about
a few negative incidents that have happened in the country. No one talks about
several positive things that have happened. The strategy of the Marxists and
the leftists is to keep a written record of everything. They create imaginary
narratives based on these same written evidences. They try to create divides
among various castes and religions in society based on these narratives, so
that the common man loses faith in the country’s constitution and judicial
system.
Recognizing
the nature of these forces, the Manmohan Singh government had begun taking
strict action against urban Naxals. Urban Naxalism is even more dangerous than
Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Some people live in this very country, yet help
those who are conspiring against the nation. They can be anywhere. The real
question is how to fight these invisible forces. Activists of the Kabir Kala
Manch were arrested on charges of being Maoists in 2011. R R Patil was the Home
Minister at that time. This action was taken under his leadership.
At
that time as well, Kabir Kala Manch and their supporters argued that the voice
of these people is being suppressed because they are progressive and sing songs
of equality and that they have no connection with the Naxals. Despite all the
pressure, R. R. Patil stood firm on his stand that those arrested have links
with Naxalism and that the police action is justified. Information about the
anti-national activities of urban Naxals was provided in an affidavit submitted
to the Supreme Court by the then Home Minister, P. Chidambaram in 2013. At the
Dasara Melava, Uddhav Thackeray said that the Public Security Act is a law that
can be described as ‘Hum Kare So Kayda’ and must be scrapped completely. This
showed who the real mastermind behind this is. Uddhav Thackeray will now have
to keep justifying these very forces.
