On September 22, the National Investigation Agency and the Enforcement
Directorate conducted simultaneous raids in 11 states of the country. This
crackdown by the NIA and the ED was majorly on the offices and the associates
of the controversial Popular Front of India (PFI). PFI has been advocating
Muslim extremism and is accused of aiding terror. These raids sent shock waves
across the country probably because it was for the very first time that such a
massive action was taken in a well-planned manner simultaneously in different
states. This operation resulted in the arrest of nearly 106 PFI officials and
several incriminating documents, weapons and explosives were seized. The PFI
also tried to remain out of this by releasing press releases condemning this operation.
While there were rumors that the central government was trying to suppress the
Opposition by arresting the leaders of this organization, the investigation
agencies on the contrary revealed the findings of their operations and thus
exposed their true face before the country.
The organization was established in 2006. But it had started to show
its true self immediately after the Babri incident in 1992. Time and again, it
was revealed that this organization had hatched conspiracies to create terror in
the Hindu community through their terrorist and Islamic radical activities in
South India. Over the next few years, this organization gradually spread across
the country. The security forces also claim that PFI has been active in various
terrorist activities across 20 states in the country. After Nupur Sharma’s
statement, the security agencies claim that this organization only was
supporting the killings of Hindus by inciting religious hysteria in the
country.
In the month of June, a Hindu was brutally beheaded and killed in
Rajasthan. The police investigation had also revealed that this organization
had distributed leaflets in Kerala claiming to convert the country into a
Muslim nation. Although PFI has denied it, the security forces have discovered
PFIs links with the terrorist organizations like SIMI and the Indian
Mujahideen. Officials also claim that PFI was involved in many incidents of
political violence. A professor in Kerala was fatally attacked and his hands
were amputated over an offensive question in an examination. The crime was
proven in the court, but the PFI shrugged its shoulders saying it had no
connection with the attackers. In Ernakulam in 2018, a leader of a left-wing
student organization called the SFI was killed. It was alleged that PFI workers
only did it. The Karnataka government had also alleged that the women activists
of this organization were leading the agitation which was triggered by the
recent Hijab controversy in Karnataka.
After the action initiated by the National Investigation Agency, all
the activities of this organization have come to the fore. PFI is said to be
active in creating social and religious unrest in the country. It is now proved
that the Babri issue, various terrorists’ attacks, riots and agitations against
the CAA or the NRC Act were deadly conspiracies hatched by this organization
only. Action has been initiated against PFI based on the allegation of creating
violence by providing financial support for terrorist activities. It was the
Congress-led government in Kerala that informed the High Court that this
organization had mainly targeted the Hindu community. The Chandy government’s
presentation to the court revealed that this organization was only involved in
the murders of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Marxist Communist Party
workers. Action has now been initiated
against this organization that is undermining the democratic framework
of our country to create an Islamic regime in India. And the Modi government
has sent a befitting reply through its actions that such activities undermining
the country will not be tolerated.
On Saturday, the Anti-Terrorism Squad arrested six more PFI members
from two different towns in Uttar Pradesh. The squad claimed that they found
objectionable material from these PFI members. The investigations have also
revealed that this organization had planned the murders of some very important
persons in Kerala. The squad has also received some evidence related to this
conspiracy. The investigation agencies have revealed that the PFI had hatched a
conspiracy to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi almost two months ago.
They had planned to detonate the July 12 rally in Patna and had also trained
some of their members for the same.
The repercussion of the action against this organization is beginning
to be felt across Maharashtra as well. A PFI leader was arrested at
Sambhajinagar in Marathwada. Action was taken against 39 people in Beed after
some PFI activists disobeyed curfew orders and continued their demonstration.
On Saturday, a few Muslim youngsters protested in Pune and raised slogans of
‘Pakistan Zindabad’. This one incident was enough to show how deep the
conspiracy of this organization has been rooted. It clearly shows how it was
working towards inculcating the poison of religious hatred in the minds of the
Indian Muslim community. Now, the state home department has also become alert
and will not bear such hateful tendencies. Deputy chief minister and home
minister Devendra Fadnavis has made it clear that each and every protestor
giving anti-national slogans will be identified and action will be taken
against them. As the seeds of the Modi government’s zero tolerance policy is
getting deep-rooted in the country, such anti-national activities will not be
tolerated. It is the government’s priority to erase the sense of fear from the
minds of the people and to usher in a new era of safe living. The wrecking of
such a destructive fanatical organization like the PFI is just a step in this
direction.
