This
assembly election is going to be different in many ways. The overall scenario
right now is that this election will decide the fate of Maharashtra, the state
that is known as the most developed state in the country.
The
election will be fought with the background of two and half year administration
of the Maha Vikas Aghadi and then the stand taken by the Maha Vikas Aghadi on
various issues after they went out of power, its far-reaching consequences and
the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s support to those forces which are trying to disturb the
socio-religious fabric of the state. Therefore, we have to say that this
election will decide the fate of Maharashtra.
After
some incidents which took place amidst Diwali celebrations and the reactions
expressed by the Maha Vikas Aghadi and especially Uddhav Thackeray, it feels
like deliberate attempts are being made to destroy the religious harmony of
Maharashtra just for the sake of votes. An attempt was made to stop Diwali
celebrations in a housing society in Mumbai. Few days ago, in Ratnagiri, an
attempt was made to stop the Sanchalan of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on the
occasion of Vijayadashami. The courage of fanatic forces, who became arrogant
after the success of ‘Vote Jihad’ in the Lok Sabha election, is continuously
increasing.
The
cases have been filed against concerned persons in both the above mentioned
incidents. UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray has not dared to utter a single word of
protest against both these incidents. During 1980’s respected Balasaheb
Thackeray had shown his fierce nationalist ideology by strongly criticizing the
forces for bursting the fire crackers in Bhendi Bazaar after Pakistan’s win.
Uddhav
Thackeray has left his father’s fiery Hindutva ideology long back. But Uddhav
Thackeray is committing a sin of taking the Shiv Sena built by respected
Balasaheb and joining hands with the same fanatic forces. Respected Balasaheb
would have taught the lesson to the forces preventing the Diwali celebrations,
through his actions. With an impression that he needs unanimous Muslim votes to
win the election, Uddhav Thackeray has knelt down in front of fanatic forces in
the society.
During the Lok Sabha
elections, Uddhav Thackeray had called the members of Muslim community to Sena
Bhavan and asked them for their votes. Uddhav Thackeray had requested the
prominent people of this religion to forget what happened in the past and
support them. Nobody expects Congress and Sharad Pawar to take a stand against
religious fanatics. However, Uddhav Thackeray is appeasing the Muslim community
more than Congress and Sharad Pawar have ever done. Every citizen of
Maharashtra knows the stand taken by respected Balaseheb’s Shiv Sena in the
1992 Mumbai riots. The country is suffering from the tragic outcome of
appeasement of religious fanatics. Even then Uddhav Thackarey has distanced
himself from the idea of nationalism just for the greed of votes.
The
two-and-a-half-year administration of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government proved
to be extremely detrimental for Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray’s carelessness
because of the lack of knowledge of governance and basically no vision of
development has led to shifting of projects like Saffron, Tata Airbus from
Maharashtra to other states. After realizing that the development of the state
does not gain pace without big projects, the government of every state keeps
trying hard to get industrial investment in their state. To attract industries
every state rolls out red carpet for domestic and foreign companies. Various
state governments are making strong efforts to attract industrial investment by
giving many concessions in land, water and electricity. For that the chief of
the state i.e. Chief Minister needs to pay personal attention. Projects like
Foxconn, Saffron and Tata Airbus shifted from Maharashtra to other states when
Uddhav Thackeray was the Chief Minister. Uddhav Thackeray made no efforts to
ensure that these projects stay in Maharashtra. The leadership responsibility
of the Maha Vikas Aghadi that lasted for two and half years was with senior
leader Sharad Pawar.
However,
Sharad Pawar did not make any attempt to control Uddhav Thackeray’s careless
administration, to make him understand by talking to him. In his
autobiographical book ‘Lok Maza Sangati’, Sharad Pawar has mildly expressed his
disapproval about Uddhav Thackeray, who visited Mantralaya only two to three
times in two and half years. The congress had made lots and lots of promises to
voters in Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
Voters
fell prey to these promises and gave power to the Congress. But after coming to
power, Congress could not even fulfil its single promise. Congress had promised
the poor women to vote for the Congress candidate in Lok Sabha election and get
an allowance of Rs. 8,000 per month. They even made women fill forms for this.
False propaganda like constitutional change, fraud promises and total surrender
to religious fanatics is the policy of Congress, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav
Thackeray. Voters have learned the reality behind the false propaganda like
constitutional change. Therefore, voters of Maharashtra will not allow Uddhav
Thackeray- Congress and Sharad Pawar alliance to get even close to power.
